Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in America, captivating players of all ages with its blend of fun, strategy, and social interaction. As enthusiasm for the game surges, it’s crucial to prioritize proper warm up and cool down routines. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just starting, taking these steps ensures you enjoy every match to the fullest!

Warm ups help enhance balance and coordination, boost muscular flexibility, and improve joint mobility, all of which contribute to better performance. Below are a few exercises to get your body warmed up and ready for the court! For each of the following activities, preform 10-20 reps:

  • High Kicks
  • Hip Openers
  • Side Shuffle

Cooling down after a workout is important for recovery and helps prevent injury. Hold each of the following static cool down stretches for 30 seconds. Repeat three times each side:

  • Quad Stretch
  • Hip Flexor Stretch
  • Hamstring Stretch
